Peter Thiel is a very successful American entrepreneur, business angel, libertarian and venture capitalist of German descent. Thiel co-founded Paypal and made early-stage investments in numerous startups, including for example Slide, LinkedIn, Friendster and Yelp. He’s also angel investor of Facebook.

Thiel is also colloquially referred to as the “Don of the PayPal Mafia”, because PayPal alumni have founded or invested dozens of startups with an aggregate value of $30 billions.
