Weeplaces makes your checkins useful. It is a startup that allows users to record, organize, and share geo.
Checkins are a record of your experiences, activities, and places you’ve been. WeePlaces makes use of this data by creating geoprofiles, a personal page of these experiences. Our goal is to be your storage and organization tool of all your geodata.
WeePlaces is made by the geo-startup Movity.com. A bunch of entrepreneurs, who focus on data, geo, and making things awesome. They are funded by YCombinator and raised a $1.3m seed round from angels including Naval Ravikant, Paul Buhheit, and Aydin Senkut.

Foursquare aka 4SQ does some marketing together with the tv music channel VH1. The spot will be airing all summer. “Unlock it to rock it” - the lucky winner gets unlimited free access pass to any live show.
Good example of a succesful media cooperation between Foursquare as new app and service and tv. Seems to be a good symbiosis.
